"I have just received Piano Star 1 and 2, and have played through the pieces, enjoying them very much. What a change from the pieces of equivalent difficulty in the tutor books with which I am all too familiar. These in Piano Star present the welcome challenge of slightly longer length, offering traditional and new material with a range of styles and moods, imaginative flair in the arrangements and careful attention to melodic charm. I have always felt that a single piece per page presents the young player with a more adult sense of achievement and is more of an encouragement towards focussed performance. I really look forward to giving these to my pupils. The illustrations are also delightful."
