Which books are new?

There are nine new books of pieces: ABRSM Piano Exam Pieces 2027 & 2028 for Initial Grade and Grades 1 to 8, plus a book of Teaching Notes.

Which grades are covered by Piano Exam Pieces 2027 & 2028?

The books in this release are for Initial Grade and Grades 1 to 8. Choose the book that matches the learner’s current or next grade level.

What are the Teaching Notes?

The Teaching Notes provide valuable support for teachers using the new syllabus with their students. They are packed with creative teaching ideas and practical solutions to technical challenges.

When are orders expected to ship?

Orders are currently planned to ship from 4 June 2026. We will keep this collection updated as the release date approaches.

Are these the current official ABRSM piano books?

Yes. These are the latest books for learners using the ABRSM Piano Syllabus 2027 & 2028. You can use the pieces in exams from 1 January 2027. You can also shop the rest of our Piano collection.

How do I choose the right piano book for my grade or level?

If you know the exam you are preparing for, choose the matching Piano Exam Pieces 2027 & 2028 book for that grade. Ask your teacher if you are not sure which grade to choose. If you want to check the exam requirements before you buy, use our Syllabus Finder.

Can I still use the Piano Exam Pieces books 2025 & 2026 in exams?

Yes. You can use Piano Exam Pieces 2025 & 2026 books and other 2025 & 2026 syllabus repertoire in exams until 31 December 2027. During this one-year overlap, you must choose all your set pieces from the same syllabus.

Do I need new scales, sight-reading and aural test books?

There are no changes to scales and arpeggios, sight-reading or the aural tests for Practical Grades, so you can continue to use our current supporting books to prepare for exams.
