Piano Exam Pieces 2025 & 2026, ABRSM Grade 6

Great pieces

Very hard pieces but then I say that every time I move up to the next grade !!

I still await its arrival.

The cardboard package wasn’t able to prevent this brand new book, which should last for years, from arriving with damage to one corner (in worse condition than older ABRSM books available in my local Oxfam bookshop). These books are expensive, ABRSM has a monopoly and there is nowhere to buy them locally (I live in New Milton, Hampshire).

Regarding the book itself - there’s not much in it, I have had to spend a considerable amount to buy music, not published in this book.

ABRSM, you could do much better for your students, perhaps offering all available publications for each grade as a package with a discount, or making them more widely available at local bookshops. I am 67 years old and no longer working, so have limited funds.

Please can your website and publications be more age-inclusive.

I used to have piano lessons at a local music centre (Coda, New Milton). I am struggling to study for my Grade 5 Theory, so have stalled for several years. Even Coda does not offer face to face tuition, I was expected to pay £30 per hour for disjointed one-to-one tuition with one of their music teachers. ABRSM needs to do more to provide opportunities for those if us who are struggling to obtain good theory teaching - I can’t even find anywhere to study for Music GCSE which might help. Currently ABRSM seem to be catering for those who seek alternative routes to obtaining exam recognition, away from the Classical repertoire.

I am continuing with my ABRSM journey with an excellent teacher in order to be able to improve my technical ability, as I compose short pieces and would like to be able to publish them.
